Patio weather is here, and absolutely nothing says Sunday Funday like a couple of cocktails on a sunny patio. So throw on your favorite pair of sunglasses and invite the crew to your place, because cocktail hour starts now.
Here are our favorite springtime cocktails for sippin’ in the sunshine!
The Bee’s Knees
Tart and tangy, this cocktail just screams spring. Aromatic without being overpowering and sweet without being cloying, we’re pretty sure this cocktail will be making regular appearances well into summer.
- 2 oz. Bombay Sapphire gin
- 1 oz fresh lemonade
- 1 oz honey
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake for 30 seconds. Pour into a highball glass over ice. Garnish with a lemon wedge and a sprig of thyme.
This fruity cocktail has just the right amount of fizz and makes the perfect after-dinner drink on a warm spring night. Light but strong, the Berry Breeze is impressively easy and fun to serve at home.
- 2 oz. vodka
- 4-5 blackberries
- 1/4 oz. fresh lime juice
- Ginger beer
Muddle berries in the bottom of a cocktail shaker. Add vodka and lime juice and shake with ice. Strain over ice into an old fashioned glass or copper mule mug. Top with ginger beer and stir. Serve with a lime wheel and blackberry garnish.
Forget everything you thought you knew about poolside drinks, because this one blows them all out of the water. The Deep Cleanse is refreshing enough for those hot spring afternoons that just beg for a dip in the pool.
- 1.5 oz. gin
- 2 oz. aloe vera juice
- 1/2 oz. simple syrup
- 3 slices cucumber
- Fresh lime juice
Muddle cucumber and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. Add all other ingredients to shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a cucumber slice.
This cocktail is like Texas springtime in a glass, and it’s got the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. Although it’s great on it’s own, it’s also easy to scale up and serve up in a pitcher at your next backyard barbeque!
- 2 oz. jalapeno tequila
- 1 oz. lime juice
- 3/4 oz. simple syrup
- 1 strawberry
- In a cocktail shaker, muddle strawberry before adding other ingredients and shaking with ice. Strain into an old fashioned glass over ice and garnish with a strawberry and a jalapeno slice.
Cheers to spring!
